 U.S. state of northwestern North America, bordered by Canada and the Pacific and Arctic oceans.

Also comprised of the Aleutian Islands. Ounce Russian territory. Russia lies approximately 16 miles across the Bearing Straight. Crude oil production provides Alaska’s major source of funding. Commercial Fishing and Tourism are other industries of major importance to the Alaskan economy. Alaskan waters contain some of the finest fisheries in the world. The Cod, Halibut, King Crab, Lobster, and Salmon catches of Alaska are renown worldwide for their superb gourmet quality.
